9 top Armenian gastro events of 2021

GastroVino presents its version of the most important events in the restaurant sector of Armenia in 2021.

1.    Mads Refslund’s visit to Armenia

World-famous chef, co-founder and former chef of one of the best restaurants in the world - NOM (Denmark) - Mads Refslund, visited Armenia in fall.

He gave “gastronomic performances” in Tsaghkunk Restaurant & Glkhatun of Tsaghkunk community.

2.    Opening of Point of View

In September, Wine Republic Yerevan restaurant group presented its new project: Point of View “rooftop” restaurant opened at 2/2 Melik Adamyan Street, in the building of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU).

Now it has passed to “winter mode” offering its guests a new interior, a new menu and a beautiful view to enjoy the cold weather as well.

3.    Opening of Avocado Queen Yerevan

In spring, Novikov Group, which has more than 100 projects in the restaurant sector, opened its first restaurant in Armenia, Avocado Queen Yerevan.

It is a joint project of Novikov Group and Pinskiy Co.

The restaurant on Saryan Street is the 8th branch of Avocado Queen, the others operate in several cities of Russia, Spain, Bodrum.

4.    Opening of Syrovarnya Armenia

The second Armenian project of Novikov Group, Syrovarnya Armenia, opened in spring.

The menu of the Italian restaurant on North Avenue is based on three important ingredients: cheese, tomatoes and good dough.

5.    Opening of Pizza RIA

The traditional Neapolitan Pizza RIA pizzeria opened at 12/2 Martiros Saryan Street and has quickly become people’s favorite, breaking the stereotype that a successful restaurant must be big.

The main “culprit” of success is founder and chef of Pizza RIA Heghine Manukyan.

6.    Opening of Burgery

On January 11, “Yeremyan Projects,” the largest restaurant group in Armenia, opened Burgery Angus & More at 3/37 Amiryan Street.

Angus meat is the product of “Yeremyan Projects”.

7.    SEASONS becomes part of “Yeremyan Projects”

SEASONS restaurant and M-CAFE cafe located at 15/5 Mashtots Avenue have been operating as part of Yeremyan Projects company since May.

Within the framework of the “All seasons for you” concept SEASONS offers all-weather approaches and ideas.

The complex includes SEASONS-SWEETLAND confectionery and SEASONS GELATERIA ice cream section.

8.    Opening of PAUL announced

In October, the Galaxy group announced that the first PAUL cafe will open in Armenia in 2022 at 8 Abovyan Street.

In the upcoming few years, Galaxy plans to open 5 PAUL cafes-restaurants in Armenia.

9.    Opening of Hard Rock Cafe Yerevan announced

Opening of Hard Rock Cafe Yerevan in the second quarter of 2022 was announced in early December.

The joint project of Wine Republic Yerevan restaurant group and the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) will operate at 3-1 Pushkin Street

Vice President, Franchise Operations & Development at Hard Rock Cafe International Anibal Fernandez said: “It will be a new thing for Armenia, you will not find anything like this in Yerevan. Trust me.”
