At its August 27 session, the Board of Trustees of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia discussed organizational matters and the budget for the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles international wine competition, which will be held in Armenia in 2026.
“Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy of Armenia and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the importance of ensuring a high-quality event as it provides a platform to promote Armenian winemaking and wine tourism globally. Holding the competition in Armenia is a unique opportunity to present to the world the country’s millennia-old winemaking heritage, unique terroirs and rare grape varieties,” the foundation said in a news release.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the world’s largest platforms, bringing together around 400 professional judges who taste some 7,500 red and white wines from approximately 50 countries.
In recent years, the contest has been hosted by the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Mexico, and China.
