“We are incredibly proud of this recognition by James Suckling, the most prestigious wine critic of the world,” said Juliana Del Aguila Eurnekian, the owner and president of Karas Wines. “Since the early 2000’s when we started this journey with my family, we dreamt of making the best wine of the world in our motherland, Armenia. We brought knowledge from around the world, as my mentor and wine consultant, Michel Rolland, came along on this journey of discovering the most ancient terroir in the world – the volcanic Ararat Valley. With deep respect for our roots, we make wines from Armenia to the world, with the conviction that these wines will tell our stories: the story of our land, of our friends and families from beautiful Armenia to whoever has the chance of uncorking a bottle of Karas. Through wine we connect Armenia to the world, and this recognition is one more flag of the Armenian renaissance of wine that we plant in the world.”
