Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in collaboration with ACBA Federation created online sales platform of Armenian wines.
The website includes 56 types of wines of 21 companies which meet the quality standards and which were selected by blind tasting as a result of objective sensory evaluation of wine samples.
“Apart from being a sales platform, the website is unique as it contains comprehensive information about Armenia’s winemaking heritage, Armenian grape varieties and winemaking regions,” Executive Director of the Foundation Zaruhi Muradyan said.
“Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus” Program expert Sirvard Amatuni noted that Armenian companies producing high-quality wines regardless of the volume of the production will now manage to directly sell their products in Europe at more affordable and competitive prices.
In parallel with the launch of the online store, a joint storage-logistics center for Armenian wines opened in Berlin. The warehouse will facilitate the participation of Armenian wines in wine exhibitions and tastings organized in the EU.
A service center in Europe will also operate within the framework of the project. Customers will have an opportunity to ask questions and make orders through calls.
The online sales platform of Armenian wines operates in 3 languages: English, French, German. In the first half of 2022 the Russian version will also be available.
