“Despite being a very old grape variety, Karmir Kot is a new variety in winemaking. It is very different from Areni and Tozot both in terms of structure and aromas,”Aimee Keushguerian, the founder of Zulal, told GastroVino during the presentation of the new wine.

Karmir Kot has been produced in a limited quantity – about 1,500 bottles.

“This variety of grape is one of our discoveries. We found it in Vayots Dzor. Currently this variety exists only in two or three vineyards. Karmir Kot has not been vinified for many years. With this wine, we must somehow, evaluate and decide what the future of Kamir Kot will be in winemaking,” Aimee said.

Karmir Kot differs from the other wines of the series with its design. The author of the bottle label, artist Arshak Sargsyan said wine and art are connected with each other.

“The idea of authoring Karmir Kot’s label was born during the conversation with Aimee about the wine. The image on the label was got by using the diagram technique. We tried to present Vayots Dzor and the image of a drunken horse covered with grapes in a minimalist style,” he said.

Karmir Kot will be presented only in specialized shops and restaurants.
