The 18th Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival kicked off on October 3. Despite the coronavirus pandemic and difficult post-war situation, for a week Yerevan hosts renowned filmmakers, laureate films of international film festivals are shown.
The artistic director of “Golden Apricot” Karen Avetisyan told Mediamax that this year the final part of the festival will be held in a more “chamber” format. The awards ceremony will take place at the “Ararat” Museum of the Yerevan Brandy Company.
“Agreed with the war anniversary we display a certain restraint. We believe that the “Ararat” Museum is a very important area in that restrained but expressive format. Besides, Golden Apricot and the “Ararat” Museum have some commonalities. In terms of culture they both are important structures representing Armenia in their field. And in that sense, our cooperation is very symbolic,” Karen Avetisyan said.
