A Tale Of 2 Mountains: A new wine from Karas Wines

The Karas wine family has recently expanded with A Tale Of 2 Mountains, a variety that differs from the company’s other wines by aroma, design, and price.

“Our vineyards in Armavir marz line up at the foot of Mount Ararat, which gives them their special identity and character. We want to pass the stories “witnessed and heard” by Mount Ararat to younger generations through this new wine. The number of young wine lovers has grown in Armenia recently. They like new varieties, so we decided to make one for them,” Marketing and Communications Manager at Karas Wines Beatriz Arslanian has told GastroVino.

A Tale Of 2 comes in red and white, each a mix of two grape varieties, with prevalence of the Armenian grapes. The red is made from Areni (60%) and Malbec (40%) and the white is a mix of Kangun (60%) and Chenin Blanc (40%).

The new variety is the most affordable among the Karas wines, because it targets young consumers. “Not everyone can buy a Karas Reserve 2013 regularly, but A Tale Of 2 Mountains is your “everyday” wine,” said Arslanian.

Karas exported A Tale Of 2 Mountains to Russia and the U.S. before launching the sales in Armenia. According to Beatriz Arslanian, A Tale Of 2 Mountains can actually be considered an “exotic mix”.
